Snow covers the ground,
Glow in the light.
Stars twinkle above my eyes,
Fading with the night.
Winter is here:
It’s grip firm and bold
Only to fade to Spring’s might.
A breath of cold air
And Spring awaits,
Waiting for the right.
Soothing forces continue
Through the air,
Leaving Winter without a fight.
Grant us this day
And all the time ahead,
As I look forward toward the sight.
Found it. 🙂
In the style of Petrarchan sonnet
Anger and Fear
Hello my friend, who speaks unwittingly,
A telling, nervous look, a peaking glance
To no one in particular. Happenstance,
It seems that I must do it forcefully.
I seek the writing facing me, not free
To leave my friend: I am truly askance.
For it must be a merry little dance.
But finally, as now, I seek your need.
When I see my soul’s piercing, strident eye,
I see not the treachery of thy move
That brought my thoughtless flush of anger;
The brightness swallowing the spacious sky.
It’s coming down but slowly, like a dove,
By flashing not at you, but my Fear.

Just realized how long it has been since I posted something. Oops. Thank you for everyone who liked my poetry. Makes me feel good. Now, if I can only get some parts of WordPress to work like it want it to, I’ll be fine. 🙂
I will post another poem from my back collection sometime today or tomorrow. I’ve considered doing something for #NaNoWriMo but not sure how poetry and novels work. I’ve considered writing a novel, and I might, but I don’t know what I would write. Several of my friends are posting that they plan to write. It will be cool to see what they come up with.
Work is good (I work full time) and I’m considering starting a blog for legal technology. We’ll see. Once I’m back in the swing of things, I might do that.
In case you have no idea what NaNoWriMo is, it’s a month that authors sign up at nanowrimo.org, dedicate that month to write at least 50k words, and get prizes. And a T-Shirt. 🙂 T-Shirts are important: Been there, done that….you get the picture.
Had to steal my iPad back from my daughter. She took off with it (I gave her my permission) Sunday night since I wasn’t using it. Then I wanted to use it yesterday. *sigh* Now I have to charge it and it’s doing odd things when it’s low on power. Very strange. I did just update it Sunday too. I might need to reboot it again.
Windows down, driving along;
The wind whips through my hair.
Calm thoughts, happiness abounds;
I drive looking at everything with my stare.
I smile as I go home towards love
As darkness slowly descends;
Thoughts abound, plans form,
And wonders alight in the end.
Upon my head
Near my bed.
Listen to the rain
As it falls from the sky
And then it is goodbye
Shows it’s sadness
But in the end
There is gladness
For the rain
Brings beauty, love and peace
Allows growth and nectar
And sleep in ease
Greetings everyone. I’m back with an iPad (b-day present so I can talk to parents with facetime) to help with writing, games, editing, reviews, social media, and all those things that had to be put on the back burner while I find a full-time job. Well, I found one. 🙂
It is an interesting transition but I’m enjoying it. I plan to stalk Goodreads.com (if you haven’t joined, you should as it is a one-stop shopping smorgasbord for your reading (and writing if you are so inclined) pleasure. Great way to get yourself advertised if you are self-publishing. Highly recommend it. If you need beta reading or editing, let me know. I read just about everything, including Romance, Science Fiction, Fantasy, Paranormal, Steampunk, YA, and other genres I don’t normally read… Mostly fiction though, although, I can probably be talked into non-fiction depending upon the topic. You can contact me on my contacts page.
More poetry will be posted as soon as I get my act together. I have years of stuff to wade through and that doesn’t include the stuff I create. Might even write short stories and/or novels. Still working on that.
Thanks to those that encourage me and I’m going to try post more often. If nothing else, I hope you are entertained.
Green, green, it’s a lovely morning
Everywhere I look I see brown and green
The sky is cloudy and rainy here
But you know that it is spring.
Sorry for the long wait for those that follow. I’ve gotten off my duff and post a past poem and maybe I’ll get inspired soon to write more: poetry, reviews, and maybe even stories. 🙂
It’s been a long couple of months looking for job. I hope it happens soon. In the meantime, I’m gong to post reviews and poetry as I run across things. And maybe the occasional contest for my favorite genre: Romance! (Thanks AF for that lovely contest, it got me going an realizing I can just re-blog things I like. Hadn’t done that before. I’ll get the hang of this blogging thing..eventually.)
So, sit tight, relax, and enjoy the ride… -Kim
O the days gone by
Brightly lit in the sky.
The wonder of a passing age.
O wonder of the night
Singing gaily in spite
Of a time spent in haste.
How I wish there was a place
That I could take my face
And see my sadness flee.
For here I stand
In this world, as planned;
And wonder what’s to be.

Some do not attribute themselves to any religion but are still very spiritual. I hope that you enjoy the season as well.
Faith is a wonderful thing
Especially when you are down
Love one another and it will bring
Something wonderful, something found
That will help you through
The thin of life, the thick of love
And peace will reign blue
With wonder lights above.
