The return of the iPad

Greetings everyone. I’m back with an iPad (b-day present so I can talk to parents with facetime) to help with writing, games, editing, reviews, social media, and all those things that had to be put on the back burner while I find a full-time job. Well, I found one. 🙂

It is an interesting transition but I’m enjoying it. I plan to stalk Goodreads.com (if you haven’t joined, you should as it is a one-stop shopping smorgasbord for your reading (and writing if you are so inclined) pleasure. Great way to get yourself advertised if you are self-publishing. Highly recommend it. If you need beta reading or editing, let me know. I read just about everything, including Romance, Science Fiction, Fantasy, Paranormal, Steampunk, YA, and other genres I don’t normally read… Mostly fiction though, although, I can probably be talked into non-fiction depending upon the topic. You can contact me on my contacts page.

More poetry will be posted as soon as I get my act together. I have years of stuff to wade through and that doesn’t include the stuff I create. Might even write short stories and/or novels. Still working on that.

Thanks to those that encourage me and I’m going to try post more often. If nothing else, I hope you are entertained.

No Others Need Apply by Evelise Archer Review

Sorry for the long wait, but working takes a lot out of you.  🙂

This is my review from goodreads.com.  I had my first review all worked out and then I went to add this to my blog and lost it off the tab I had on Goodreads when I went to add the picture to the post.  *sigh*  Sometimes technology makes me want to smack it.  Or, at least, bludgeon into submission.  That will teach me to write it offline first; or, at least, in a program that autosaves…and now for the review:

“Note: I am a beta reader for the author.  I also received a copy from the author so I could review the final version.

I give it a full 5 Stars because I loved reading this story.  Would I like it to be longer? Of course I do. But, then again, I’m a series kind of gal and love story arcs that continue across multiple books.  That doesn’t mean I don’t like self-contained gems like this one.  Yes, there is not a lot of sex.  Yes, it is short.  But these things, in their brevity, make it a beautiful little story.

This is the story of Shelton Richards and Jonathon Valient; who meet from an online blog, fall in love, and find their home with each other.  It’s short, sweet, and full of love with not a lot of sex.  The point of this story is learning their journey to falling in love with a someone who enjoys the same things you do, in this instance, primarily books.  Who wouldn’t love that?  I would recommend anyone who wants a short read (less than 25 pages), male characters who are into each other, and love ‘happy ever after’ stories.   I say for a debut book here on Goodreads, it is a good start and I would enjoy reading more from the author.”

More reviews, books, and, of course, poeatry as soon as I can.  I have several beta/editing books and short stories to do, a couple more reviews, and my brain wrapped around writing poetry again.  The work situation is getting better with hope on the horizon.  I might mark it with a new poem…stay tuned! ~Kim

I’m back…mostly..

Sorry for the long wait for those that follow.  I’ve gotten off my duff and post a past poem and maybe I’ll get inspired soon to write more: poetry, reviews, and maybe even stories.  🙂

It’s been a long couple of months looking for job.  I hope it happens soon.  In the meantime, I’m gong to post reviews and poetry as I run across things.  And maybe the occasional contest for my favorite genre: Romance! (Thanks AF for that lovely contest, it got me going an realizing I can just re-blog things I like. Hadn’t done that before.  I’ll get the hang of this blogging thing..eventually.)

So, sit tight, relax, and enjoy the ride… -Kim

Review of “An Angel’s Soul” by S.L. Armstrong and K. Piet

This is is a review of An Angel’s Soul by S.L. Armstrong and K. Piet.  It is a free LGBT romance read and worth reading, especially if you like angels.  My review from the All Romance Ebooks website and Goodreads.com:

ARe: 4 stars, Goodreads.com: 5 stars

This is a very cool MM story about a guardian angel, Raziel, and his charge, Cole. Very heart-warming and worth reading. I love angel stories and this one is no exception.

Review of Feeling the Rhythm by S.J. Frost

A quick review on the B&N Site for Feeling the Rhythm by S.J.Frost

“I would highly recommend this book – the whole series for that matter. It’s a wonderful love story that will make you smile. The series is great and I would recommend reading it as well. I love rocker stories and this series continues to amaze me.”

In addition: I reviewed it on Goodreads.com:

I would highly recommend this book – the whole series for that matter. It’s a wonderful love story that will make you smile. Brad and Remmy’s story is told here in the 7th book of the Conquest series. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves a good love story with angst and happy endings. The series is great also and I would recommend reading it as well. I love rocker stories and this series continues to amaze me.

Musings of a frazzled Kim

Hello all.

Thanks for those who have decided to follow me.  I appreciate it.  I’m going to do a post to update everyone so people know what is going on.

Poetry:

I will be adding more as I have time.  Creativity this week as been low but I plan on working on something.  Most of the time it happens when the Muse hits.  I have a lot of poetry I wrote when I was younger so I’m posting them about once a week.  More as I have time.

Review:

I work full time and I have not had a lot of time to review everything I read.  I’m going to work on those that I really like (5 stars) since everyone should read them if I really like them.  Assuming you like the genre, of course.  🙂

I will be posting reviews here along with the appropriate places depending upon where I get them from.  Have eReader, will travel.  Stay tuned!

Editing:

I have a few more beta reading for authors that I will post info about with their permission.  It’s going to be fun!

Books:

I read…a lot.  And sometimes they spark things for poems and even writing my own stories.  With some encouragement from a couple of authors, I have a start on a novel and a short story for an anthology.  Here’s hoping that I can continue.  We’ll see.  I might even post a free read if I can get enough creative juices rolling.

Thanks for listening to my meanderings and I’ll keep you posted.  If you know of people who like poetry and new books, point them here! 🙂

Review of Angel by Cyma Rizwaan Khan

This is my review for Goodreads.com and Amazon.com.

I was chosen as one of the beta readers for this story. I am not normally a dark story person but I really enjoyed this story. This is about Angel and Ty and an unlikely romantic story set in a background of kidnapping, slavery, and torture. The redemption and forgiveness of this story makes it a wonderful love story that you shouldn’t miss.

It can be purchased here.
